First up, Captain Kirk returns in the latest release from the Perth Mint's ongoing Star Trek collection. This latest design, from designer Jennifer McKenna, is "endorsed" by William Shatner himself, featuring the planet Saturn and several of its moons in the bridge viewscreen, which Shanter apparently has a "personal fascination" with.

New Star Trek Discovery coin

Perth Mint have released their latest Star Trek coin, making their second visit to Discovery, following last year's Burnham and USS Discovery pair. The new coin brings in more of the cast to celebrate the crew of the Discovery.

Like most of Perth Mint's collectable coins this has been minted in silver (two ounces), making it rather more value than the face value of two Tuvalu dollars. The Star Trek side features colour printing, while the other side features the head of Queen Elizabeth II. The coin is a limited mintage of 2000 coins.

New Star Trek coins celebrate DS9, TOS ships, and TMP poster

Three of the current Star Trek coin licensees have got new releases out, celebrating The Original Series' ships and The Motion Picture poster. Continue below to check them out.

But first, the Royal Canadian Mint are about to release a crazy cool coin version of Deep Space 9, flattening the station down to a disc, with the spaces between the rings and bridges having printed spacey sections, featuring the USS Defiant and the wormhole - There are printed sections on both sides of the coin, which is apparently a first for the Canadian Mint. What makes it really distinctive though is that the coin is minted in the shape of DS9's outer ring, with all the little docking port notches all around the edge.

New TOS silver coin-notes and Captain Kirk figurine from the New Zealand Mint

The latest Star Trek currency collectable is a bit of a curiosity: Not quite a coin, not quite a note, behold, the coin-note! Fresh from the New Zealand Mint, on behalf of the nation of Niue, is this collection of solid silver banknotes. Each 15x7cm note has a face value of one Niue dollar, and the actual face of Queen Elizabeth on one side, and each is made from five grams of silver (making them worth/cost several times the face value).

Each of the main TOS characters have been the subject of the other side of the note, with 50,000 available of each crew member. Captain Kirk began the series back in January, and regular releases since then mean the whole crew are now available.

New silver starship coins from the Royal Canadian Mint

The Royal Canadian Mint are releasing a series of new starship focused designs in their ongoing range of Star Trek coins. The new releases feature the USS Enterprise-D, USS Voyager, and Enterprise NX-01.

All three designs feature colour prints of the ship, with glow in the dark spacey backgrounds and illuminated parts of the ships. Each coin has a face value of ten Canadian dollars, although they are all cast in silver, and so their actual value (and cost) is several times that ($65). There will be 10,000 of each coin minted. Continue below to check them all out.

Spectacular new USS Enterprise shaped coin, and other new Star Trek coins

I've got a bunch of Star Trek coin updates for you today, including several different TNG 30th anniversary releases. But we'll start with something really out there.

A few weeks ago the Royal Canadian Mint released, and almost immediately sold out of their latest Star Trek coin - I say coin, but what this really amounts to is a huge silver low relief model of the USS Enterprise. To enforce its coininess, you will find on the underside of the saucer a face value of one-hundred Canadian dollars, and the head of Queen Elizabeth II, plus the year and country of origin.

Mirror, Mirror coin from Perth Mint

Perth Mint have expanded their Star Trek coin collection once more, this time with an episode specific coin based on Mirror, Mirror. As is so often the case with products based on this episode, the contrast of bearded mirror-Spock and clean-shaved-prime-Spock is the subject of the artwork of the coin, with a yellow-printed background dividing their mirror image.

Seven new stamps have been released, offered in a variety of formats to appeal to all types of collectors. Continue below to check them out.

Let's start by going over the seven designs, which include a unique Borg Cube shaped stamp! This higher value stamp (five Canadian dollars), is the first ever novelty shaped Star Trek stamp (though surely it's only a matter of time before someone does a Starfleet delta or Enterprise shaped one!).

Loads of new TNG and TOS character stamps

The world of Star Trek postage stamps just seems to grow and grow lately. All the most recent designs are character focused this time, and once again brought to us by the Inter-Governmental Philatelic Corporation, who design and distribute stamps for various countries around the world. Continue below to check them out.

From The Gambia we have the first ever round Star Trek postage stamps. Circular stamps are nothing new in general, although certainly they are fairly uncommon, and entirely new to the Trekverse. The women of TNG get this special treatment.

Latest Star Trek coins and stamps from the Perth Mint and Australia Post

The Perth Mint have been busy designing coins to celebrate Star Trek's 50th anniversary this year, with some create designs and packaging, and tie-ins to releases from Australia Post. Continue below to check out all the latest Star Trek coins:

The most recently minted join pulls together the entire TOS main cast on a colour printed two ounce silver coin. As ever with Star Trek coins from Perth Mint, this is technically legal tender in Tuvala, however the metals used are rather more valuable than the face value of two dollars! Being from Tuvala, the other side of the coin features the bust of Queen Elizabeth II. This is released in an edition of five-thousand.

First nuTrek postage stamps, and US stamp release datails

It's been an exciting year for trekkie stamp collectors, with dozens of new Star Trek postage stamps released around the world, representing almost every Star Trek series. While we're still waiting on some TAS stamps to truly cover every corner of the Star Trek universe, St. Kitts have now helped to fill one gap, with the release of the first ever postage stamps featuring Kelvin timeline subjects.

Seven stamps have been released as two miniature sheets, using promo shots from the first nuTrek movie. One sheet features most of the main characters (sorry Scotty and Chekov), while the other has a single stamp featuring both Spocks.
