Star Trek cereal

In the latest wave of Kellogg's' Star Trek promotions there is now not only cereal with Star Trek stuff all over the boxes, but a dedicated (limited edition) Star Trek cereal, which according to TrekMovie is a "sweetened oat ceral with marshmallows shaped like the Starfleet logo". TrekMovie also found that flickr user Berry Market has posted some pictures of the box.

I am most amused that this cereal is, according to the box, only available in theatres *smirk*

More Kelloog's promos

The Kelloog's website has been updated with info on a couple more promos to tie in with the new film. In boxes of Frosted Mini-Wheats, Frosted Flakes, Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, Froot Loops and Rice Krispies you can find "Star Trek Beam-Up Badges" which have some manner of battery powered function. There are five to collect, each with a different insignia; Starfleet Command, Science and Engineering, and Romulan and Klingon Empire.

There's also a promotion with Pop Tarts where you can collect tokens to get passes to watch the film.

Edible Star Trek

Almost forgot to note these, but... TrekMovie have reported on Star Trek based food stuffs coming out of the Trek bandwagon.

By far the most exciting (in my opinion as a chocoholic) is a chocolate starship Defiant. Though this in unfortunately only to be found in Canada, as produced by Les Chocolats Vadeboncoeur:

There are also to be Star Trek cakes! A US company called Deco Pac are doing a little model Enterprise to go on big cakes, little cakes with little pictures of the Enterprise and "Star Trek" and a big edible picture of the Enterprise to put on your cakes.

Finally Kellogg’s have started to role out there promo stuff for the new film, with a thing to get a Star Trek plate. However if I'm honest I'm far more interested in the odd american mini-waffle-toast-grid-things the promotion is attached to, fascinating *cocks and eyebrow* You can get tokens from a whole range of "Eggo" waffles, egg-citing!
