Prodigy round-up: A close look at the USS Protostar, concept art, character images, behind the scenes, trailer, movie-potential, and first episode for free

Prodigy it into it's third episode this week - Though it feels more like the second after the extended two-part start to the series, which you can, for a while, watch for free (more on that below).  Paramount+(ad) have of course been enthusiastically promoting the series, both looking ahead, and reflecting back on the first episodes. Plus several of the production team have shared some really cool behind the scenes artwork. Continue below to check out all the latest from the series.

First up, director and executive producer Ben Hibon shared some great images of the USS Protostar, giving us a chance to really examine the shaping and details of this shiny new starship design. In his tweets he credited designer John Eaves for the "early ideation", the final design to himself and the Nuen Studio team, and the textures to look development designer Nikie Monteleone.

With Discovery season three now at an end, there's still a lot of new content being shared in it's wake, celebrating the completed season, and all the amazing behind the scenes work that went into make it. Discovery round-up: 3x07 Unification III previews, alien make-up, starship images, western poster, and more!

This week Discovery season three continues with the provocatively titled Unification III, and as ever CBS have released an assortment of preview video and images to tease the new episode. I've also got my usual round-up of all the latest other Disco updates and behind the scenes; which this week includes a look at Orion, Cardassian, and Andorian alien prosthetics, yet more Grudge the cat love, some nice new images of the 32nd century Starfleet ships, Reno's thoughts on the Disco-refit, and a wild west poster! This week's new episode of Discovery is Scavengers. As usual CBS have released lots of promo for the episode, even more images and clips than normal in fact. Discovery 3x05 Die Trying previews, plus behind the scenes, crew logs, and a travel poster

Out this week is the fifth episode in Discovery's third season, Die Trying. As ever CBS have released a bunch of promo material to tease of what is to come, along side behind the scenes images from the previous images, a particular amusing entry in the social media crew logs, and a nice travel poster for Trill. Lower Decks canonises the Luna class USS Titan, and other series updates

Something very exciting happened in the last episode of Lower Decks, the Captain Riker's ship, the USS Titan, made its on-screen debut, a decade and a half after being named in Nemesis! To mark this historic moment CBS released a fun little social media poster featuring the ship, Riker, and Troi, who all appeared in the episode. This week's seventh episode of Lower Decks is Much Ado About Boimler, which as ever CBS have previewed with a trailer and stills. Check them out below, plus other updates from the series.

Picard home video details, and latest behind the scenes videos

CBS have announced the details of the home video release of Picard season one, which is due out in October on bluray and DVD. As expected the set includes the Short Treks prequel Children of Mars, as well as all the Picard episodes.

Here are the details of all the other extra features included:

Discovery round-up: Set photography, aliens, concept art, unrealised mirror universe, and season 3 update

In this latest round-up of Discovery behind the scenes stuff, we'll get a good look at some Disco sets, behind the scenes photos and stories from some of our favourite aliens, concept art, and details of the mirror universe that we didn't get. Continue below for all that and more, but first, and update on season three.

Replying to a tweet from actor Wilson Cruz, editor Scott Gamzon gave a quick status update on where production is:
Post production, Sound, VFX and Editorial are all hard at work from our homes.  It’s going to take longer and there have been challenges but the results will be worth the wait!
One wonders how the heck they're going to do the music from home! Here's hoping they find a solution soon and we're enjoying the far future before we know it.

Meanwhile CBS have been pushing Discovery as part of their general promotion of CBS All Access lately, including releasing this set of set photography for use as Zoom background:
