Latest from Cross Cult (New Frontier and comics)
Cross Cult have released their latest New Frontier character image, it's Shelby:
On the comics front, my usual German informant, Jens Deffner of Unreality SF, has pointed me towards a Cross Cult forum post announcing their future plans for comics. After impressive sales of Countdown
they have found further comic sales disappointing and will no longer be releasing series omnibuses. As an alternative they are considering doing much larger omnibuses instead, with four miniseries in a single limited edition hardcover book. They're seeing customer feedback on the idea on the forum post. The first book provisional could include Klingons: Blood Will Tell (TOS), Leonard McCoy: Frontier Doctor (TOS), Fool's Gold (DS9), and Turnaround (NF).

IDW July
ComicNewsi have posted IDW's solicitations for July, which include three new Star Trek comics and an omnibus:
Star Trek Movie Adaptation #5
J.J. Abrams, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman present the official comics adaptation of their blockbuster film STAR TREK! The creative team behind the best-selling STAR TREK: COUNTDOWN returns to continue the epic adventure as Kirk comes face to face with an older, wiser Spock... and meets a certain Scottish engineer for the first time. Includes scenes not in the original film!
Leonard McCoy, Frontier Doctor #4
Our visit with the Doctor comes to an end with two titanic tales—first, Dr. McCoy must find a way to deal with a virus that just may be smarter than he is… and then a visit to an old friend finds Bones wrestling with a dilemma that cuts across the very heart of his Hippocratic Oath.
Burden of Knowledge #2
When the Enterprise crew embarks on a mission of planetary First Contact, Captain Kirk finds a peaceful, idyllic society, one happily linked together by a global thought network—or so it appeared. When he discovers a bitter rebellion simmering beneath the surface, will he be able to follow the Prime Directive, or find himself compelled to get involved?
Fool's Gold
Captain Sisko and the crew of Deep Space Nine make their triumphant return to comics! When the station begins to be overrun by thieves, treasure-seekers, bounty-hunters, and other assorted ne’er-do-wells, Major Kira and Constable Odo must find out why. Can they get to the bottom of it before the station’s new visitors bring things to a boiling point?!

IDW in February and comics updates
Comics Continuum have posted IDW's solicitations for February, which include three new Star Trek comics and two omnibuses.
Ghosts #4
With Captain Picard shifted into another dimension, Commander Riker takes command of the Enterprise and negotiates with Worf's hot-tempered captors for his release. Troi tries to pick through the noise in her patient's head to unravel information on the extra-dimensional ghosts. Meanwhile, the missing Picard finds himself in a peculiar leadership role.
Fool's Gold #3
As the temperature rises aboard Deep Space Nine, Captain Sisko, Kira and Odo come closer to getting to the bottom of the mystery. Can Sisko calm the volatile situation and restore order before another riot breaks out? And what does Garak have to do with all that has transpired?
Star Trek Movie Adaptation #1
JJ Abrams' blockbuster revitalization of the Star Trek franchise was the most thrilling film of the year. Now, under the direction of Abrams and screenwriters Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, comes the highly anticipated graphic adaptation of the film! Additionally, new scenes and moments cut from the movie are revealed‹an event no Star Trek fan can dare miss!

Romulans: Pawns of War omnibus
Collecting Byrne's tales of Star Trek's Romulans in one volume. This special edition tells tales leading up to the seminal "Balance of Terror" episode. Included within is the Romulans Alien Spotlight, the two-part Hollow Crown story, and the three-issue Schism series. As an added bonus, Byrne writes and draws an all-new 12-page "Balance of Terror" adaptation just for this collection.
Nero omnibus
From Star Trek writer/producers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, comes an all-new story set within the events of the hit film! Not an adaptation, this exclusive story follows the villainous Nero as he seeks to destroy the Federation.
Meanwhile on his forums John Byrne has given some new details of his forthcoming series Leonard McCoy, Frontier Doctor. It apparently sees McCoy dealing with a new disease in each issue, and is based on an idea Byrne once had for a TV series set in the American Civil War.
And final some new art. David Messina's cover for Fool's Gold issue 2 (also available on Messina's blog, Captain's Log: Sulu cover art at higher res than previously released):
And from the interior artist of the same series, Fabio Mantovani, a page from the first issue (which you can also see pre-colouring on the original post):

Tiptons on DS9

The series will feature all the regular characters, with particular emphasis on Odo and Kira as the faces of law and order on the station, and Quark's bar being a prominent location. The brothers describe the series thusly: "the station is overrun by mysterious soldiers of fortune from across the galaxy, it creates a powder keg on DS9 with a very short fuse." "It's the larger mystery that needs to be solved: why are they all on the station? What brought them here, and might there be a hidden, larger purpose?"

DS9 comics! DS9 comics! DS9 comics!
At last, as our friend Nero likes to say "the wait is over", or nearly over at least: Comics Continuum have posted IDW's solicitations for December which include three Star Trek titles, comprised of the second issue of TNG's Ghosts, the Cardassian focused post-Dominion war final Alien Spotlight and the first issue of a new DS9 series, by the Tiptons no less!
Alien Spotlight: Cardassians
Written by Andy Schmidt, art and cover by Augustin Padilla.
Set just after the Dominion War, a black-ops band of Cardassian fundamentalists infiltrate a Starfleet Prison to assassinate the leader of the Dominion ... the founder responsible for 800 million Cardassian deaths. But if justice is done, will the fallout with Starfleet plunge the Cardassians back into war? Guest-starring classic DS9 characters Kira and Garak!
Ghosts #2
Written by Zander Cannon, art by Javier Aranda, covers by Joe Corroney.
The negotiations to end the civil war on Allios IV continue while Worf investigates the history of the less advanced of the two civilizations. Meanwhile, Picard is rattled by being identified as one of the phantoms that haunts a seriously wounded researcher they rescued from a marooned orbiter, and Troi, Geordi, and Dr. Crusher investigate the mysteries of what caused the accident.
