New movie on USB and Enterprise webcam!

While wondering around on play.com I found a couple of interesting new products: Don't fancy a space consuming DVD or bluray of the new release? Well you're in luck, as you can now get the film on a USB stick shaped like the Starfleet insignia, and with the movie using up a mere 1GB you get 3GB of useful extra storage space to play with as you please! They're limited edition, so get them while they're hot.
And if you have another spare USB port why not fill it with a webcam shaped like the original USS Enterprise! Complete with LED illuminated nacelles!

Tiptons on DS9

Comic Book Resources have posted an interview with the Tipton brothers on their forthcoming DS9 comic book series Fool's Gold. "[Their] story is set between Seasons 3 and 4, before Worf's arrival to the station and before things start to heat up with the Dominion War. It's kind of the last point where there's breathing space before the series got really serialized in its final four seasons."

The series will feature all the regular characters, with particular emphasis on Odo and Kira as the faces of law and order on the station, and Quark's bar being a prominent location. The brothers describe the series thusly: "the station is overrun by mysterious soldiers of fortune from across the galaxy, it creates a powder keg on DS9 with a very short fuse." "It's the larger mystery that needs to be solved: why are they all on the station? What brought them here, and might there be a hidden, larger purpose?"

Online previews

...keep on coming, this latest one is quite cool though, advertising the Klingon side of the game:

An amusing statue of Captain Kirk opening his christmas presents:

A pair of "light up water tube transporters" (?):

Star Trek stockings of various designs, including Spock, and this Enterprise one:

And finally a Spock-centric light-up star to beam down peace and long life from atop your christmas tree:

Old-TOS coming from Playmates?

Well here's something interesting... according to a press release posted on Toy News International Playmates is set to release a new array of Star Trek stuff, including continuations of there current lines, a new line called Starfleet Defenders which "includes a full array of movie characters articulated in small-scale in dynamic animated-style action poses. Collectible iconic mini space ships from the 2009 movie include the U.S.S. Enterprise, the U.S.S. Kelvin, and the Narada." And notably (given until now Diamond Select Toys has retained the licenses for TV series toys) a new line of Galaxy Edition figures based on The Original Series: "action figures and diorama’s based on the classic Star Trek series. These figures will be highly detailed with authentic life-like likenesses and feature over 16 points of articulation. Iconic scenes from the most popular episodes will be depicted in two-figure pack dioramas." Fascinating.

Luna Online!

The Star Trek Online website's Ships of the Line feature has been updated with a (presumably) complete listing of Starfleet starship classes in the game. The list includes several familiar names as well as many new ones, with links to features on the ships which have so far been revealed properly. One of the unlinked classes at the moment is the Luna class! And at about the same time ZAM released five new images from the game, including one showing the Luna class (of the familiar Titan design) in action:UPDATE: Massively has also posted some new images, including another look at my new favourite starship design:
