New apparel previews (updated)

Page created 13th November 2014. Last updated 15th November 2014.

Crowded Coop's big range of Star Trek bags and other accessories is just starting to make its way into the world, and ThinkGeek have added many items in the collection to their Star Trek offering. As is typical of ThinkGeek, they have some excellent product photos, giving us the best look yet at these new designs. So let's check them out (continues after the jump)

The red Uhura make-up bag has a magnetic flap with a built in mirror on the inside, surrounded by golden Star Trek themed prints. And just so you know who's bag you're borrowing, it has a little Uhura signature on the front.

The tote bag in the retro tech collection features a graphical USS Enterprise with department colour contrails, zipping past a planet. The print interior is blue for this one:

Latest Star Trek stuff around the home

Several companies have revealed new Star Trek stuff to use at home, and when out and about. Coming soon to Westland Giftware's Star Trek range is their latest cookie jar, and I think their best one so far; based on the USS Enterprise, they've filled in the gaps between the nacelles to make a warp effect, so there's plenty of room for cookies within:

Also new from Westland is something they've not done before, wine stoppers. They are launching three different TOS designs, the USS Enterprise, Captain Kirk, and Mr Spock. Their website also has an an image of what I believe is a counter-top display unit they'll have for these in shops:

Finally from Westland, their latest Star Trek clock:

It's normally a few months before new stuff Westland display on their websites is available, so I'd expect these to be turning up towards the end of the year. Meanwhile, they aren't the only ones make Star Trek clocks, earlier in the year Underground Toys announced a pretty big range of watch and clock designs. Things From Another World are now listing a selection of these, expecting them to come in August. Their listings include better images than those previously released.

From the watches they are offering the USS Enterprise saucer design, the command uniform watch, and a Captain LCD watch (although they haven't posted an image of the latter yet):

They have two of the clocks, both bell alarms, either an Enterprise-D image as the face, of a TOS Starfleet delta:

They are also offering one of Underground Toys' float-pen designs, the USS Enterprise. I particularly like their description for this one, sounds like an especially terrible Gold Key comic:

From Underground Toys! The starship Enterprise has become trapped within the shaft of this floating pen!
Finally, Vandor have added one new item to their Star Trek range as well, coming in August or September will be a ceramic travel mug, with the Starfleet delta on:

No excuses for being out of uniform

If you want, it is now just about possible to live your life wearing clothes entirely in TOS uniform colours. Of course for the most committed trekkies, you can just wear a Starfleet uniform, with options ranging from Rubies' budget fancy dress costumes, to Anovos' high end costume replicas. But if you're not quite ready to enlist there are options from head to to toe, and for all ages, genders, and activities, to infuse your life with Starfleet gold, blue, and if you're feeling brave, red.

There don't seem to be any TOS uniform hats just yet, so the highest point we can start is the neck, with Anovos' series of TOS ties, made from the same fabric they make their TOS replica uniforms from. They come complete with a tiny Starfleet insignia:

From the neck down there are lots of Starfleet style options to cover your torso. Of course there's the classic T-shirt:

If you prefer a collar, We Love Fine have just announced new TOS uniform polo shirts:

For the ladies there's also the option of a tunic tank in either colour:

Feeling a bit more casual? How about a TOS uniform style bath robe?

Or perhaps you're ready for bed? Well Jumpin Jammerz have got you sorted there, with their TOS onesie pajamas:

If you really feel like dressing down you could just hang out in your Starfleet issue underpants from ThinkGeek:

Or maybe just hang out in your socks:

If even socks are too much for you, then how about laying out on your Starfleet towel?:

It's not just for grown up, you can prepare from your career in Starfleet from birth, with uniforms for babies:

And uniforms for toddlers:

A Starfleet officer has to be fit, and ready for any activity, so you'll be relieved to know there's uniform for when you're on Starbase cycling-patrol duty, with cycle jerseys for men and women:

You really will be ready for exotic landing party missions with these dry suits from Roddenbery.com:

For the slightly less extreme options, you can keep uniform at hand with an iphone case:

Or wear your affiliation on your sleeve with the new watches coming soon from Underground toys:

And that's just about all your options, for now. At least all those that give options in all three colours. I think hats are the biggest gap, or maybe female undies to match the boxers? What do you feel a desperate need to be TOSified?

Someone's been firing a shrink-ray...

...because suddenly there are a bunch of miniaturised Star Trek things on the way:

On the way next month is the first Star Trek mini kit book from Running Press, the little light-up phaser model comes with an equally little book, and now Amazon have posted an image of all the bits in the (also little) box:

A similar USS Enterprise mini kit model and book is due out in September. Meanwhile another little phaser is coming, in the form of a key-chain torch from Underground Toy's new Star Trek range. I previewed the phaser last month, when it was initially due out, but it now seems to have been pushed back to July, and joined by another Star Trek torch, this one in the form of a little Borg Cube:

The Borg Cube isn't alone in it's small form either! Already available is the Borg Cube "monitor mate" from Bif Bang Pow:

Also in the ranks of little ships is Hot Wheel's new toy-car sized edition to their Star Trek model ships range, the nuTrek USS Enterprise, this has already gone on the market in Malaysia - I reported on it recently, showing the packaging, now Mattel have released new images of the little ship out of the blister pack. Here's one (see more on Hot Wheels Collectors):

And finally, StarTrek.com has announced more tiny ships are coming in the form of Wizkids games latest addition to their Star Trek Heroclix range, Attack Wing. This new game is built around not just the Wizkids Heroclix system, but the FlightPath maneuver system as well, as licensed from Fantasy Flight Games. The new game will see players move around maps, and engage in battles, with their pre-painted little ship models from various factions. Using the different base system they will also be able to assign familiar crew members form Star Trek to their ship.

Clocks, cups, and pens!

Last month Underground Toys previewed some of their forthcoming Star Trek clocks at the Toy Fair. Now thanks to the catalogue of the UK distributor, Zeon, and the latest pre-orders on Entertainment Earth, I can show you a few more, as well as some of the other Star Trek goodies they have on the way.

The jewel in the crown of their line has to be the impressive USS Enterprise projection alarm clock, which has a digital clock built into the side of the engineering section, as well as a projection clock coming out of the bridge dome:

Their Starfleet delta clock also has a light effect, projecting a back-light onto the wall it's hung on, leaving the delta in silhouette in the dark.

There are a variety of novelty watch designs:

Moving on to more household items, and it seems Underground Toys are playing in similar territory to Westland Giftware with their mugs using a Starfleet delta as a handle:

They are also offering character sculpted mugs, and again like Westland a character shaped cookie jar, in this case Spock:

They have a few extra features in some of their designs, the transporter room mug here uses a heat reveal design, so when you have a hot drink in the mug a landing party beams in. The comic book art mug meanwhile will have some sort of built in sound feature (another idea Westland have already tried):

Slightly less innovative are these coffee cups with lids, featuring the TOS uniform colours:

They are also planning to do little tins of mints. Look closely, it appears they are planning to do the mints in the delta shapes as tiny deltas! Cool!

Finally they're doing some of those pens with floaty bits in! I don't like to think how many hours of my life I spent playing with my old Enterprise-D ones of these!
