IDW's Star Trek comics for June

IDW have released their latest solicitations, which include two new Star Trek comics due for June release. Continue below for all the details of those, and other comics updates:

Year Five #3
Written by Brandon Easton, with art by Silvia Califano
With their clash with the Tholian Assembly still fresh in their minds, the crew of the Enterprise, along with their new Tholian passenger, encounter a strange new threat on a very familiar world. The final adventures of the five-year mission continue!
Two covered are promised for what sounds like the start of a new arc in the new TOS ongoing series. The A cover will be from Stephen Thompson, while J.J. Lendl continues to provide retail incentive designs for the series. The latter is the only one so far previewed:

Captain Saru comic preview

Our this week is IDW's latest Discovery comic, and their second one-shot based on the series, Captain Saru. As you might have guessed from that title, Saru is the central figure in this tale, set within the epilogue of season one's final episode, when Saru was briefly in command of the Discovery.

The book, like all the Discovery comics, is written by Kirsten Beyer and Mike Johnson, with Angel Hernandez on art duties for this issue. It is available in two covers with Hernandez also producing the retail incentive cover (coloured by J.L. Rio), while the more widely available A cover is by Paul Shipper.

Continue below for a five page preview, starting with the best Saru-blueberry scene yet!

Comics updates: New covers and art for Year Five, Q Conflict, and more

Lots of Star Trek comics updates and previews today, including some really nice new artwork. Continue below for all the latest from Year Five, The Q Conflict, DiscoveryWaypoint, and the Transformers crossover:

First up, Year Five cover artist J.J. Lendl has revealed his retail incentive covers for the first two issues in that new TOS series. Issue one is a retro one-sheet, and issue two a really cool travel poster for the probably inadvisable trip to the Tholian Assembly!

I've got a round up of the latest Star Trek costume, props, and apparel today. Continue below for everything from faithful reproductions to some more esoteric takes on Trek.

First up, Trick or Treat Studios have revealed their latest Star Trek mask, a Gorn! Sculpted by special effects makeup artist Chris Gallaher, it is described as a "perfect replica of the mask worn by the Gorn in the original Star Trek episode Arena". This is expected to arrive in August/September (but available to preorder now), and joins a range that so far includes Balok, Spock, and Kirk.
