Get funky in the latest TOS Trek-wear

TOS inspired clothing is getting pretty jazzy lately, with rainbows, neon colours, comic book inspiration, and more giving the latest TOS Trek-wear some pop. Continue below to check out some of the latest releases.

Drawing colourful neon tinted imagery from the Tokyo Invasion Star Trek branding are a pair of "lounge pants" from ThinkGeek, released last month. Covered in a dense texture of blue Star Trek imagery, there are also larger renditions of Spock, Kirk, the Enterprise, and both Japanese and English text on the legs. These are just the latest product to use these designs are drawn from artwork used to promote Star Trek in Japan in the 70s, with previous examples including an even brighter martial arts top.

Phaser-glow rock mood light, and other stuff to Trek out the house

I've got a round-up of some of the latest Star Trek stuff out there to Trek out your home or office, and we'll start with one of the weirdest Star Trek products to have found its way to market...

Taking inspiration from The Enemy Within, The Wand Company (who have previously brought us things like the bluetooth communicator, and universal remote phaser) have come up with the phaser-controlled rock mood light. Simulating Sulu's desperate attempts to stay warm, this is a glowing rock, controlled, by a phaser...

The rock faithfully recreates the scene; with the phaser blast "heating" it up to full brightness, which then gradually dims once you stop firing (it is only light that you'll get though, no heat from this rock). There's also an alternate "atmosphere mode" where the rock can gradually shift through different colours and brightness. The rock is USB chargeable, and to complete your landing party experience comes complete with a Starfleet survival blanket!

New Star Trek swimwear from ThinkGeek

Another summer approaching brings us another new wave of releases in ThinkGeek's ongoing range of Star Trek swimwear. This year's releases see new men's versions of the TOS and TNG uniform inspired swimwear release for women in previous years. But first...

Adding to the women's collection, is this gloriously zany 80s/90s print style TNG ships one-piece swimsuit, featuring a cocktail of Starfleet and alien ships from TNG.

New bridge set lamps from ThinkGeek

The creative souls over at ThinkGeek have had one of their odd moments of inspiration once more, and the result is two new lamps, both featuring miniature bridge sets at their base. You have the option of either the TOS or TNG bridge, and I feel the TNG set pulls of the concept best, with the swooping bar around the command well providing a neat edge to the diorama. TNG uniforms for all occasions

There's been run of TNG uniform inspired clothing releases lately. Continue below to check out your uniform options for smart and casual events.

First up, by far the most stylish of the recent releases is Her Universe's new (released in September) TNG command style shift dress. This elegant two-tone piece keeps things fairly simple, with a TNG combadge cluing you in to it's design origins.

Latest stuff to Trek up your home

I've gathered together a few of the latest bits and pieces to add a touch of Star Trek to your home today. We'll start with the subtler end of things, a new Star Trek rug of great distinction from ThinkGeek: The Federation Presidential seal, ready to make your office feel like a room in the Palais de la Concorde.

New TOS uniform swimsuits from ThinkGeek

Following on from their range of TNG swimwear last year, ThinkGeek are preparing for another summer of landing parties to beach-planets, with a new series of TOS uniform inspired bikinis. Their latest creation is essentially the prime timeline version of the female TOS mirror universe uniform, with a crop top and skirt (actually a skort) forming a two-piece swimsuit. The design is available in all three department colours, and looks pretty cool.

Fill your home with isolinear chips and LCARS displays

If you ever wanted your home to feel like a little (landed) starship, there are a plethora of new products this year to give it a little 24th century flavour; with LCARS displays and isolinear chips scattered about.

Most of these come from The Coop, who launched a large collection over the summer. The highlight has to be a fully functional isolinear chip (aka USB stick), which even glows when in use.

Latest Star Trek mugs and glasses

Drinking vessels are one of the more prolific of Star Trek products, and lately there have been some pretty creative examples (although mostly mugs ...so so many mugs). Continue below for a look at the latest releases:

From ThinkGeek, we have a set of "planetary glassware", released back in July. The set includes four ten ounce glasses decorated to look like Earth, Vulcan, Romulus, and Qo'noS, plus a Borg Cube shot glass.

More 50 Artists 50 Years art revealed, on mugs! Plus other new Trek drink-wear

Hope you're thirsty, as there is quite a variety of new Star Trek drinking vessels and bare-ware around. Continue below for new glasses, bottles, a decanter, and bottle opener. But first, mugs!

I pick mugs first because I believe this latest range of rather lovely artistic designs from Culturenik might well be revealing several pieces of art from the 50 Artists 50 Years exhibition. It has not been confirmed in any of the product descriptions, but we have seen one of the designs in previous previews for that 50th anniversary art collection, all the artists are involved in the collection, and it's hard to believe these have all been commissioned just for use on mugs!

My personal favourite is the glorious comic-book style collection of classic scenes from the original series, which is apparently titled Risk is Our Business!, by Mick Cassidy.

ThinkGeek's starship noise machine!

ThinkGeek have revealed their latest innovative Star Trek product, the "Star Trek White Noise Sleep Machine". The machine is essentially a speaker with a snazzy alarm clock built in, featuring the ambient noises of all your favourite starships. Here's how ThinkGeek describe it:

The Star Trek White Noise Sleep Machine provides the low thrum of a familiar spacecraft exploring some corner of an as-yet-unknown galaxy to gently lull you to sleep. Use the easy-to-navigate LCARS touch screen display to select a ship or station, whose schematic will pop up in the next window. Rest your head on your pillow and watch the stars race by, projected onto the ceiling. Bask in the light of the glass "warp" tower as you relax to the familiar sounds of the warp core... or whichever sound you choose. ThinkGeek's new Star Trek maxi dresses

Ever fancied cosplaying as Captain Picard's ready room? Well now you can thanks to ThinkGeek! Their latest maxi dress features the painting from said room, originally created by Rick Sternbach and Andrew Probert, set into a larger starfield, and actually I think looks pretty cool. A bumper Trek-wear update for you today, with enough Star Trek inspired clothing to fill a wardrobe! That includes, jumpers and jackets, legging and socks, boots, sportswear, maternity wear, dresses, and more.

First up, these amazing kaleidoscope print designs, which are available from ThinkGeek. Both feature a TOS inspired print, made from images of the Enterprise and various icons, in a floral/firework style burst. Lots of ways to drink something green

I hope you're thirsty, as I've got a drinks cabinet full of new Star Trek barware to share today. First up, a really fun new creation from ThinkGeek: The transporter pad coaster (which comes in a set of four), which has both light and sound effects that activate when you put your drink down, and pick it up. As you can see in the video below, it's a good effect, although you might also be relieved to know the sound can be muted to ensure you don't get transporter psychosis from all the noise!
