New Star Trek coins celebrate DS9, TOS ships, and TMP poster

Three of the current Star Trek coin licensees have got new releases out, celebrating The Original Series' ships and The Motion Picture poster. Continue below to check them out.

But first, the Royal Canadian Mint are about to release a crazy cool coin version of Deep Space 9, flattening the station down to a disc, with the spaces between the rings and bridges having printed spacey sections, featuring the USS Defiant and the wormhole - There are printed sections on both sides of the coin, which is apparently a first for the Canadian Mint. What makes it really distinctive though is that the coin is minted in the shape of DS9's outer ring, with all the little docking port notches all around the edge.

New silver starship coins from the Royal Canadian Mint

The Royal Canadian Mint are releasing a series of new starship focused designs in their ongoing range of Star Trek coins. The new releases feature the USS Enterprise-D, USS Voyager, and Enterprise NX-01.

All three designs feature colour prints of the ship, with glow in the dark spacey backgrounds and illuminated parts of the ships. Each coin has a face value of ten Canadian dollars, although they are all cast in silver, and so their actual value (and cost) is several times that ($65). There will be 10,000 of each coin minted. Continue below to check them all out.

Spectacular new USS Enterprise shaped coin, and other new Star Trek coins

I've got a bunch of Star Trek coin updates for you today, including several different TNG 30th anniversary releases. But we'll start with something really out there.

A few weeks ago the Royal Canadian Mint released, and almost immediately sold out of their latest Star Trek coin - I say coin, but what this really amounts to is a huge silver low relief model of the USS Enterprise. To enforce its coininess, you will find on the underside of the saucer a face value of one-hundred Canadian dollars, and the head of Queen Elizabeth II, plus the year and country of origin.
