Screencaps and analysis, plus some more Into Darkness news, after the jump:
So, we start with the now quite familiar scenes of native people chasing Kirk and McCoy through the red jungles of Nibiru. Before we cut to a new section of a/the city panning shot, with a shuttlecraft flying through:
Cut to Pike dressing down Kirk, intercut with other footage as we see/hear:
Pike: "Have you any idea what a pain you are?"
Kirk: "I think so sir."
Pike: "You think the rules don't apply to you because you disagree with them?"
Then we see Kirk preparing for a space jump, and launching off. Here I think is the biggest reveal in the trailer, albiet a pretty subtle one: Kirk, and whoever he is jumping alongside through the wreckage of something, seem to be heading for a starship, similar in configuration to the Enterprise, but different (the nacelles are spaced further apart). Maybe the same ship we've seen crashing in previous trailers (and later in this one):
Then we see Harrison, watching, as the explosion in London happens:
Then we hear someone say "By now all of you have heard what happened in London", as we see footage of Harrison in a ship (labelled emergency across the cockpit), probably the small ship he attacks the Starfleet conference with:
Kirk declares: "He's a fugitive and I want to take him out"
We then see the saucer ship being chased by the new Klingon Bird of Prey, with an enjoyable exhcange between Kirk and Spock as Kirk pilots the ship through the second Death Star ...uh, a tight opening. The ship then emerges into a pretty, cloudy, landscape:
Then more footage from previous trailers and the IMAX preview of Spock on his volcano mission and the Enterprise underwater, and (I think) a new shot of Uhura about to go for a swim:
Cool new shot of the Enterprise at Starbase, as she goes to warp:
Then a bunch of character shots (and the other Starfleet ship crashing), including Pike asking: "Tell me this is going to work?" and declaring "I believe in you":
Exciting stuff. According to TrekMovie a full length trailer is due at the end of the month as well! In other news the same footage that was shown in Brazil earlier this week was also screened at a press event in London. You can read accounts of that on Trekkie Girls and/or Digital Spy.
