First details of Khan prequel comics

IDW have officially announced the Star Trek Into Darkness prequel comic series, Khan. The six-issue series will start in October, and explore both Khan's life in the Eugenics Wars, as well as the nuTrek version of his discovery in the 23rd century by Admiral Marcus and Section 31. The series will be illustrated by Claudia Balboni, and like all the nuTrek comics will be written by Mike Johnson, with oversight from Roberto Orci. Johnson described the series thusly:
We're traveling back in time to show Khan's rise to power and give fans their first look at the legendary Eugenics Wars. As the series unfolds we will see the events that led to Khan leaving Earth aboard the Botany Bay, and then jump forward to witness his awakening in the future by Admiral Marcus.
Here's the snazzy cover for the first issue:

I'm really looking forward to seeing a bit more of the story of Khan and Marcus, and hopefully some more on the origins of the USS Vengeance. I'm also curious to see if the Eugenics Wars proportion of the series tries to include Khan in real history, like Greg Cox's novels, or gives us a different take on recent history - or maybe fudges the original Space Seed reference a bit; I thought it was pretty smart that they deliberately didn't go into detail about the Eugenics War in Into Darkness, as they didn't have to work round the fact they sort of didn't happen yet... Should be interesting to actually see the Eugencis Wars, whichever angle they take.
