Star Trek Shipyards: Delta Quadrant books previews

Eaglemoss and Penguin Random House have released a large selection of preview pages for two of their forthcoming books, the latest entries in the Star Trek Shipyards(ad) series, The Borg and the Delta Quadrant: Akritirian to Krenim(ad), and Delta Quadrant: Ledosian to Zahl(ad). Continue below to check them.

The Shipyard series typically collects the in-universe sections of the magazine from Eaglemoss' starship model collections, with previous books charting Starfleet Starships(ad) (over two volumes(ad)), other Federation ships(ad), and Klingon ships(ad). Each of those books has had some brand new content due to handful of ships not being made as models by Eaglemoss yet. In the case of these books, which effectively present a log of all the ships encounter in Star Trek: Voyager, there is much more new content, as there are an awful lot of Voyager ships that haven't been made as models yet. As a result I think these are two of the most exciting volumes in the series so far!

The first book, The Borg and the Delta Quadrant: Akritirian to Krenim(ad), is due out in April. Here's a reminder of the blurb:

Featuring ships of the Borg and vessels of the Delta Quadrant, the first of two companion volumes of ships from STAR TREK: VOYAGER.

This volume begins with the ships operated by STAR TREK‘s greatest villains: the Borg, including the Borg Cube and Sphere, the Borg Queen’s Ship, the Renegade Borg Vessel and the Borg Tactical Cube. From there, it profiles more than thirty-five ships operated by the species Voyager encountered in the Delta Quadrant, featuring ships from A – Akritirian to K – Krenim.

With technical overviews and operational histories, the ships are illustrated with CG artwork – including original VFX models made for the show.

After you read this, be sure to check out the companion volume – THE DELTA QUADRANT: Ledosian to Zahl, which profiles more than 50 ships of the Delta Quadrant species, among them the Lokirrim Warship, the Species 8472 Bioship, and the Vidiian Warships.

With previously unseen artwork specially created in CG the two official volumes form the most comprehensive account of Delta Quadrant ships from STAR TREK VOYAGER ever produced.

THE BORG AND DELTA QUADRANT: Akritirian to Krenim IS THE FIFTH BOOK IN THE SERIES STAR TREK SHIPYARDS.

The preview pages include the contents page, revealing all the ships featured.

Amongst the Borg I'm a little sad to see Hugh's scout cube from I, Borg not there; given we only saw wreckage it's questionable it's a different type of ship at all, but other companies have taken it to be so, including Wizkids who made a model for the Star Trek Tactics game(ad).

The rest of the list is full of excitement though. The most prominent species featured in this volume are the Kazon and Hirogen - Would you believe Eaglemoss have so far only made models of one(ad) of the three Kazon ships? Other ships getting their first bit of Eaglemoss love her include the Cravic androids, and the delightfully odd bubbly ships of the Hierarchy. Sadly one of the more unique ships seen just fleetingly, the Etanian ship from the episode Rise, is missing; as the forward mentions, the original CG files for this one are lost, and Eaglemoss didn't feel they has enough to go on from one shot to reconstruct it.

Most of the preview pages from this volume focus on the Borg section of the book, kicking off with one of the distinctive features of this series, a cool splash page showing a whole fleet:

Eaglemoss have also released half of the splash-page for the other species section of the book. The teases!

The second half of this set, Delta Quadrant: Ledosian to Zahl(ad), is due in June. Here's the blurb:
Profiling more than 50 ships that Voyager encountered in the Delta Quadrant, this is the 2nd of two volumes that profile the ships from STAR TREK: VOYAGER.

Featuring the Lokirrim Warship, the Species 8472 Bioship, and the Vidiian Warships, and many more. Including technical overviews and operational histories, the ships are illustrated with CG artwork, created using the original VFX models made for the STAR TREK: VOYAGER TV series.

With previously unseen artwork, the two official volumes form the most comprehensive account of ships from STAR TREK: VOYAGER ever produced.

Be sure to also look for Volume 1, The Borg and Delta Quadrant: Akritirian to Krenim, which features the ships of the Borg, and includes the Borg Cube and Borg Sphere, Borg Queen’s Ship, the Renegade Borg Vessel and the Borg Tactical Cube, in addition to thirty-five ships of the Delta Quadrant species.

This book's better known species include Species 8472, Vidiians, Malon, and Talaxians. Among the lesser known ships there's the promise of a much better look at a whole load of barely seen Qomar ships from the episode Virtuoso.

Thank you for sharing this!
I don't know which ship the Unidentified Species Ship is.
What surprises me is that the Kazon carrier isn't identified as Predator class, and particularly that the Kazon Torpedo isn't included.
The Kazon Torpedo played a brief but prominent role in an episode, and Revell even made a model of it.

That's a great lineup.
Excluding the Kazon Torpedo shuttle surprises me. It played a brief yet prominent role in its episode, and was made into a model by Revell.
I wonder what the Unidentified Species Ship is?

Need!

Smallcraft in general seem missing from these books. I assume they are being saved for their own volumes (or just not considered worthy).

The Hazari Warship is in Book 1 but appears on the cover of Book 2. Curious.

The 'Unidentified Species' is probably the one from the Voyager episode "Night" wit their pistol shaped ships.
