Star Trek Wines brings us real Chateau Picard

Wines that Rock have launched a new Star Trek Wines range, with two Star Trek themed wines at launch, including a pretty cool twist on Star Trek theming: A Chateau Picard wine bottled at the actual real Chateau Picard in Bordeaux, France. Continue below for the details.

The two wines are available either as a limited edition two-pack (of 1701 of course), or individually. Here's how they describe the Chateau Picard, the bottle of which is a reproduction of the in-universe design from Picard:
The true back story of Chateau Picard wine is that for several generations in Bordeaux France, the original Chateau Picard winery has been producing world-class highly regarded and sought after Cru Bourgeois Bordeaux. Working with Chateau Picard’s winemakers in France, Star Trek Wines crafted this limited-edition release featuring the Jean-Luc Picard family label shown in the new series Star Trek: Picard with the wine from the multi-generational vineyard in Bordeaux.

The 2016 Chateau Picard Cru Bourgeois Bordeaux is from an estate in the heart of the world-renowned Saint-Estèphe region in France. It is an 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot blend that is subtly smoky and spicy with a bright, fresh, clean-tasting style. The wine spends 14 months in oak, 70% seasoned and 30% new.
And this is what it's meant to taste like:
Toasty American Oak integrates with blueberries, dark plum and blackberries. Bold, sweet tannins hold up a velvety mouthfeel, leading to a juicy finish with dark cherries, violets and baking spice.
And here's what they say about the Federation wine, which comes from California:
The United Federation of Planets wine is a 2017 Old Vine Zinfandel from across the Dry Creek & Russian River Valleys in Sonoma County, CA. It is a blend of 87% Zinfandel, 12% Petit Sirah and 1% Syrah. It has aromatics of concentrated strawberry, blackberry and plum preserves with a chewy-layered mid-palate filled with hints of white peppercorn, sweet red and black fruit. Elegant, stately and dignified are but a few words to describe the wine that Federation dignitaries might enjoy at their gatherings.
Here's a random extra thing, to celebrate their launch Star Trek Wines are giving away a Star Trek themed guitar! You can enter the competition on their website.
