Hot on the heels of the latest batch of Juan Ortiz's TOS retro prints come the usual T-shirt and glasses versions of the designs from Might Fine and Bif Bang Pow. As ever the T-shirt versions use slightly different versions of the designs, expanding most of them outside the crop of the posters:

Star Trek on fire!
Here's something for those of you that like flames. There's a new series of Star Trek Zippo lighters about. I believe they were actually released towards the end of last year, but I only came across them recently. There are four designs, all TOS, one in the Gold Key style. Have a look:

Red Squad appear in Star Trek ongoing comic #20 preview
StarTrek.com have posted a preview of this week's issue twenty, titled Red Level Down, of the Star Trek ongoing comic series, the last in the run of flashback stories before the series picks up events after Into Darkness, with the first part of After Darkness. This issue focuses on both Sulu and Chekov, with Red Squad appearing to cause trouble for the former. Here's the cover, which you can also see without the titles, on Ryall's Files:
I'm a little disappointed to see in the seven-page preview below, what appears to be a different first encounter between Kirk and Chekov to that depicted already in the Starfleet Academy novel The Gemini Agent. They also didn't bother to borrow Chekov's habit of running barefoot from that book. So much for dreaming they might try and maintain a consistent continuity between the nuTrek tie-ins... If you're willing to squint past those discontinuities I'm sure it will all add up to a perfectly enjoyable extra incite into the nuTrek Academy though. Preview continues after the jump:

Latest looks at USS Kelvin models
It seems to be the year of the USS Kelvin, with at least four models in various sizes and styles on the way. Those include a Hallmark Keepsake ornament, and now John Tenuto has tweeted details of a battle damaged variant of that one on the way as well, to be released as an exclusive at either the San Diego or New York Comic Cons. Here she is:
One of the other versions on the way is one of the ships in the latest Hot Wheels model starship series. T-Hunted has posted lots of images of this one, showing off the model from all angles:
Thanks to my reader Darth Duranium for pointing me towards this, and also highlighting a curiosity with the Hot Wheels ships: It seems online retailers have withdrawn their pre-orders for the series. Hopefully the fact these images have just been released is indicative the new ships are still coming, maybe just with some delay, or changes to the line-up.

Chatting in a turbolift, USS Vengeance crash, 3D, and more, in latest Into Darkness clip and trailers
IGN have posted the latest clip from Star Trek Into Darkness, this time giving us a quieter moment from the film, as Kirk and Uhura discuss Spock while in turbolift transit:
There are also yet more trailers out. Two new TV spots have a smattering of new clips, with the firts one here giving a particularly nice visual of the Vengeance, and an interesting new detail from the Spock/Harrison fight scene (screencaps and more trailers after the jump):

New images and details of the Star Trek Fighter Pods range
Last week the first good images of the new Star Trek Fighter Pods toys started to appear. Now StarTrek.com and Toys'r'us have started to release more images, giving us a look at most of the rest of the line. John Tenuto also posted photos of the USS Enterprise set on Flickr, giving a good look at that set's features, as well as photographing a booklet detailing the entire range. Even if you're not that keen on the toys, this particular bit might interest you, as it names many of the nuTrek aliens for the first time (I've stuck John's photos together for ease of reference here):
This also reveals that the figurines in each set vary. Each attack pod comes with one set figure, and three randoms, the larger Enterprise set comes with six figurines all together, but two of those are random as well.
Here are the official images of the Fighter Pods USS Enterprise, which comes with an attack pod stowed in the engineering hull, and a bridge playset in the saucer section, which can comfortably accommodate the six figurines that come with it. Of those six, four will always be Kirk, Uhura, volcano Spock, and grey uniform McCoy. Pictured here are Brian and Dexter as the two mystery figurines:
I previously posted images of three of the four attack pod sets. There still don't seem to be images of the fourth. That just leaves the smaller figurines sets. There will be blind bags, each containing two figurines and two pods. The bags look like this:
There are also two larger blister pack sets which each have four figurines and two pods. I believe that again, three figurines in each of these sets will be random, with Kirk and Spock in each set being the only constants.
Pictures here in the Kirk set are Brian, Grasia, and Cask:
While with Spock are Uhura, Madeline, and Sprog:
There are thirty-six figurines in the series. If you got the Enterprise, all four attack pods, and the two-four packs, picking them so not to get duplicates, that would give you thirty - Leaving you just six characters to find either by careful selection of duplicate larger sets, or by living dangerously and seeking them out in the blind bags.

It's... May's TOS retro prints
StarTrek.com has revealed this month's batch of Juan Ortiz's TOS retro prints. Here they are, along with comments from Ortiz on each design:
Spock's Brain
Spock's Brain
I wanted an explosion of Spock's thoughts and knowledge. So it had to be big in order to convey that. The idea came from watching hours of Monty Python's Flying Circus, as a kid.Requiem for Methuselah
Flint is 6,000 years old, but appears around 60 to us. The actor playing him was anything but god-like, but did look around 60. I wanted to convey his confidence and strength in his stance and his stare. A cartoon or animated pose was a good way to express those features.
In the episode, Flint shrinks the Enterprise down in order to keep her crew from leaving and telling the universe about him. I thought it would make a good visual if Flint were holding it. It shows off his power and makes him more god-like than if he were empty-handed.Assignment: Earth
It started out actually as an old 40's serial poster. The serials had posters with the chapter or episode numbers on them. It ended up having more of a 70's punk band feel, with the lack of background color and collage elements.
"Assignment: Earth" was a backdoor pilot for what would have been a new TV series, created by Gene Roddenberry, that was never made. Garr and Lansing would have both starred in it. My guess is it would have been an American version of Dr. Who. The Desilu logo on top was in keeping with the serial theme. The Menagerie, Part One
I wanted something bold yet recognizable. Capt. Pike in his chair is well known to fans and it's an image that evokes a sense of sadness and horror.Commenting on the guest star credit:
I felt that Jeffrey Hunter deserved credit for the integrated scenes from "The Cage," which he had starred in.

Star Trek Into Darkness soundtrack cover and track-list
Varese Sarabande Records have updated their listing for Michael Giacchino's Star Trek Into Darkness soundtrack with the front and back covers, including the track listing. Here are the covers, which use the domestic poster for the front, and the variant of the international poster background for the back:
Here's the track listing, from which we can probably infer some details of the order of events we have seen in the various trailers and clips, and maybe some details of things we haven't see - So don't read too closely if you're really into voiding spoilers. Tracks marked with a * denotes the inclusion of the TOS theme:
If you missed it, John Harrison's theme (not sure which track that might be), was performed at a concert a few weeks ago, check out a recording of it after the jump. It's a pleasingly mysterious and brooding piece:

USS Vengeance dwarfs the Enterprise in new IMAX poster, plus more trailers than you can shake a tribble at! UPDATED
The Rad Robot twitter account posted a new poster for the IMAX release of Star Trek Into Darkness, it features the USS Vengeance chasing the tiny (exaggeratedly so) USS Enterprise. Update: Higher res version via Trekmovie:
A fourth clip from the film has been released, this time we meet Carol Marcus, who seems to have taken a pseudonym, Carol Wallace (presumably to hide her connection to Admiral Marcus?). Spock seems a little jealous, fascinating:
Update: And there's a fifth clip too! This one featuring Kirk and Scotty making a dash through the damaged Enterprise:
Did you spot the seatbelts? You've gone too far this time JJ! As if Starfleet has such concerns for health and safety!
There have also been numerous new trailers released in the last day or so. There's the third in the John Harrison viral character analysis series (see previous Kirk and Spock ones), this time looking at Uhura:
This trailer is especially notable for giving us a first look at a nuTrek Klingon with his helmet off:
There's also a decent view of the new style bat'leth:
There's also the latest behind the scenes video, this time focusing on Scotty, and so is pretty funny:
Continue after the jump for another behind the scenes video, new TV trailers, and Into Darkness T-shirt designs!
