Lots of new Eaglemoss ships announced, and many new images

It's a huge Eaglemoss news day, with several new ships announced for The Official Starships Collection and loads of new images of forthcoming Discovery ships, special issues, and the next shuttle set. Continue below for all the details.

First up, four new regular issues of the Starships Collection have been announced, and it's a particularly good round this time. That starts with issue 141, the first release of 2019, which will be the 24th century Vulcan ship T'Pau, of the Apollo class, as seen in TNG's Unification. This is another welcome addition to the growing Vulcan fleet from the collection, and a design I have been particularly looking forward to getting, so I'm delighted to finally see it!

We've got lots of images, as Eaglemoss' latest round of solicitation released one model photo and an initial cover design, the Hero Collector blog released a couple more photos, and the Starships Collection Facebook page also released renderings of the new announcements!

Next up is another TNG prize, the Promellian battle cruiser from Booby Trap. This unusual design looks interesting from the not-often seen top view.

A ship surprisingly long coming finally arrives as issue 143, the Merchantman from The Search For Spock. It looks like this will be worth the wait though, as these initial photos show a fantastically crisply detailed model.

Finally in this run of announcements we have Gomtuu, again from TNG, the episode Tin Man. This is an interesting addition to the series, as it's a space lifeform rather than a ship, although does function as a ship too; it gives me hope that we might yet get a star-jelly model (another lifeform-come-ship) or indeed other space-based lifeforms (how about a gormagander in the Discovery collection, Mudd did use it as a ship afterall...). Anywho, Gomtuu itself isn't the most exciting design maybe, and I'm a little disappointed they didn't hide the join lines among the main jagged lines of it's hull, but I'm very happy to see this sort of "ship" appear!

The latest round of solicitations also give us some excellent new images of the next special issue, (interestingly enough another long awaited Search For Spock design) the magnificent Earth Spacedock, which looks to be huge!

Meanwhile the Hero Collector blog released this rendering of the Kobayashi Maru, the most recent special release.

Also posted on the Hero Collector blog is a preview of the forthcoming Kelvin timeline shuttle set, giving us an excellent up close look at all four shuttles included.

We've also got some Discovery collection updates too. The latest round of solicitations also gave us the first clear image of the 8th issue in the series, the Klingon Qugh class.

And finally coming back to where we started, a Vulcan ship!.The US Eaglemoss webshop now lists the 6th Discovery issue, the Vulcan cruiser, with a whole bunch of new images of this design, and a 360 video too!
