New (and decidedly unfinal) covers

The Simon and Schuster digital catalogue has been updated with new covers for Raise the Dawn and Fallen Gods. Both are marked as not final, and are noticeably so: With Raise the Dawn featuring the inaccurate series title, Chains of Destiny (when it should be Typhon Pact), and Fallen Gods having the Enterprise-E (which could be accurate for all we know I suppose...). The artwork for Raise the Dawn seems consistent with what we've seen for Plagues of Night, and seems to be showing what could be the construction of the new shipyards in the Bajor system (cool!) :

Thanks to Jim, of Jim's Star Trek Books, for pointing me towards them.

I hope the DS9 books start getting good again. The last one I read had Sisko being all moody and emo. He broke up with his wife, moved away from Bajor and dinked around on some stupid border starship or something. It was terrible and way out of character for Sisko.

I don't much like the direction Sisko's story has taken, but I don't think you can really say it's out of character: He has a history of running away; when he first came to DS9; when he went back to Earth between season six and seven; when he went to stay with the Prophets. But yes I do rather hope this new duology sets the DS9 novels back on course, after a bumpy period for that series (while all the others seem to be going from strength to strength).

Yeah I agree. I guess it's just wishfull thinking. It's like the writers haven't figured out what to really do with him once he came back from the Prophets in Unity. Sisko always was my favorite in DS9 but now I'm looking forward to seeing how Kira and the crew are doing.

so where have you heard about a new shipyard being built in the Bajoran system

I believe it was mentioned somewhere among the DS9 relaunch novels, maybe in Worlds of DS9: Bajor. Possibly the DS9 technical Manual too.

I really hope they get a new image of the Titan for this novel. I know Ellery Connell would be interested in rendering the Titan from another angle. This cover kinda reminds me of my Titan of Two World Fake comic cover I did a few year ago. You can see it over at http://stourangeau.deviantart.com

Likewise, more Titan the better! I'm hoping we get Pava on the cover too.

I actually like what they did with Sisko, they really wrote him into a corner. I wish they would do more Titan stuff and not worry about linking her in with the crossovers. Maybe DS9 gets destroyed in the previous novels? That looks like it could be a starbase.
