Lower Decks canonises the Luna class USS Titan, and other series updates

Something very exciting happened in the last episode of Lower Decks, the Captain Riker's ship, the USS Titan, made its on-screen debut, a decade and a half after being named in Nemesis! To mark this historic moment CBS released a fun little social media poster featuring the ship, Riker, and Troi, who all appeared in the episode. Continue below for more on this, and other updates from Lower Decks.

What is really exciting, is that the Luna class design for the Titan created for the Titan novel(ad) series was brought to life for this appearance, finally canonising the well established design originally made for the novels, but subsequently used in comics, video games, an Eaglemoss model (created after a campaign on this very site), and even a physical touring model! - To find out more about the history of the design, see my previous report - Congratulations to Sean Tourangeau who designed the ship, for this exciting milestone in it's ongoing inclusion in the Star Trek universe.

Another recent bit of Lower Decks social media brought together highlights from the entire first season (alas missing the Titan), in this crazy mass of imagery:

There's also the latest, entry in Tendi's selfies from the series, featuring Peanut Hamper the Exocomp:

Another really nice image comes from animator Robby Cook, who shared his take on the main characters on Instagram:

This final episode of the first season also prompted a new episode of The Ready Room, which among other things included a little segment hinting of things to come in season two (also on StarTrek.com, YouTube, and Facebook is you prefer):

Mike McMahon also delivered his final east eggs video, highlighting another canonisation, and an especially crazy one, the classic random Star Trek toy, Mego's Space Fun Helmet! (Also on StarTrek.com if you prefer)

There's also the usual post-release set of images from episode, including some Riker and Troi moments:

And a couple of great clips too:

Finally Titmouse have revealed their final T-shirt design accompanying the series, this time featuring lots of Mariner's stuff, including that helmet! As worn by Billups this week:

GASP! It's the season finale! Sure, space is a vacuum, but when there's a possibility of being promoted, there's more sucking up than ever! Secrets will be revealed! Loyalty will be tested! Arch-frenemies will become arch-enemies (or vice-versa)! To fight for Starfleet's future, you must reach into Starfleet's past. It's all around you, if you know where to look. OW. Careful, most of it is sharp and pointy.

Lower Decks is available on CBS All Access(ad) in the USA, and Bell Media channels in Canada. It is still unavailable everywhere else in the world.
