Picard round-up: 360 set video, location and make-up photography, easter eggs, and more

Picard season one might be over, but CBS have still been working hard to promote the series, including increasingly some fun behind the scenes stuff coming from the official Star Trek and CBS channels. Continue below for a look at the actors and make-up artists at work, some great location photography, easter egg discussion, promo images and more.

First up, one of the coolest things released lately is a 360 video of Vashti set, specifically while rehearsing the scene where Picard and the former Romulan senator have their discussion. The video starts out tracking with Patrick Stewart as he walks into the scene, and then settles in the middle of the square. If you load it up at high res and full screen (or with a VR headset) it's like you're right there on the set, watching the hoards of people it takes to make a show like this. If you're geo-locked out of YouTube below it's also up on Facebook.

And here's the unique 360 view of the Vashti set:

CBS have also released a great set photography from several Picard locations, with the suggestion of using them as Zoom meeting backgrounds:

CBS have also released a bunch of new behind the scenes photos. Here's (I think) make-up artist Richard Redlefsen with Harry Treadaway (Narek), and the make-up brush the wrong way round! Note in the background there's a Starfleet officer lurking on the Coppelius set, something we didn't see on-screen in the end; could this be from the cut scene of Narek's arrest?

There's a whole bunch of photos looking at how the make-up team turned Dominic Burgess in Mr Vup:

And then there's another pleasing moment from when LaVar Burton visited the set:

Co-creators/writers/producers Michael Chabon and Akiva Goldsman sat down with Wired to film this enjoyable video of them trying to recall all the easter eggs in the first season.

From the more straight up promo end of Picard promo, CBS came up with this Borg styled character montage:

And then there's this all-of-Trek coolness:

Finally, since I last did a round-up, CBS have released clips from the final episode of the season, Et In Arcadia Ego Part 2, so you can re-enjoy a few key moments:

Picard is available now on CBS All Access in the US, Bell Media services in Canada, and Amazon Prime Video in most of the rest of the world.
