QMx updates: New Terran Empire insignia badge, captain's chair, and possible USS Discovery model!

I've got a few updates from various different Quantum mechanix product lines today, including what I suspect is a rather impressive model of the USS Discovery, and the latest release in their 1/6 scale action figure line. But first...

QMx have revealed the latest release in their long-running series of insignia badges, which, rather than being carefully constructed based on screen-used replicas like many of the other badges, is the latest spin-off from IDW's Mirror Broken comic series. The TNG Terran Empire insignia is currently available from Anovos who expect initial orders to arrive this month, or Entertainment Earth who are anticipating January - Curiously QMx haven't listed it themselves yet. Like most of QMx's other badges, it's made from metal, and used a magnetic fastening to avoiding poking holes in whatever you wear it with.

Also fresh from QMx is the 1:6 scale TOS captain's chair, ready to seat action figures from QMx's 1:6 scale series. The chair has light and sound features powered by battery or USB, which you can see in action in this handy video from Entertainment Earth:

Finally, a bit of speculation. IDW Star Trek editor Sarah Gaydos recently tweeted some photos from a Star Trek christmas party, which was decorated throughout with Star Trek merchandise and props. One of the most eye-catching items among the decorations is a large, previously unseen, model of the USS Discovery, with lots of extravagant lighting. Now I suppose this could be a one of piece of art, but its scale, lighting style, and the large mirrored base are all features common of QMx artisan replica starship models (the really big ones with loads of detailing and multi-thousand prices to match). So this could be our first tantalising view of surely the best model of the Discovery there will be:

There are quite a few other photos on Twitter, although I don't spot anything else new myself, this Borg Cube Christmas tree is awesome:
