IDW five page previews
Since my last updates three comics have been released by IDW, and all have had their usual five page previews. Here is a page form each a link to the full preview:

Star Trek Online update
Apologies for the downtime folks, lots to catch up on!
There has been the usual barrage of information from Star Trek Online as it comes nearer to its release, now announced as February 2nd, and now with box art and system requirements!
There have been a few new videos, including the second "The Future Past" video, which gives a video version of The Path to 2409, and in fact beyond where The Path has so far progressed to, taking us all the way up to 2409.
Some of the highlights from this part of the Online history include the revelation that Species 8472 have been manipulating some of the major races to bring about the Online-verse's state of all out war, and that due to the Klingon victories in the wars when you play on the Klingon side you'll also be able to play as some of their recently conquered subject species; the Gorn, Nausicaans and Orions!
And if one video isn't enough, here's a new trailer too:
And a two part guide to space combat!
There have also been plenty of interviews and articles. One explaining the "episode" structure of the game can be found, here. Which explains the game at launch will come with three seasons of forteen episodes with plans to add more in future. While another article explains that he Federation part of the game takes most of the directed story telling, with users playing as Klingons to be focused more on player vs player gameplay. The Federation also get more ships, with sixteen ship configurations customisable into forty-eight different designs! While the Klingons get to work their way through thirteen configurations.

Byrne on McCoy
On his forums John Byrne has released a couple of pages and some more information on his next Trek series, Leonard McCoy, Frontier Doctor. The series set shortly before The Motion Picture will be starting in March. Here are two pages:

With Worf captured and under threat of execution, Geordi, Troi, and Dr. Crusher race to get information that will exonerate him. Picard and Riker negotiate with Worf's captors, but the paranoid warlords continue to regard all outsiders as a threat, and launch a military attack on the ship under the Enterprise's protection.

New Byrne series title, and Balance of Terror page
On his blog Chris Ryall has finally let slip a detail about John Byrne's mysterious next Trek project (set between the TV series and The Motion Picture), it now has a title: Leonard McCoy, Frontier Doctor, and will be a four-parter, starting next spring.

New movie on USB and Enterprise webcam!
While wondering around on play.com I found a couple of interesting new products: Don't fancy a space consuming DVD or bluray of the new release? Well you're in luck, as you can now get the film on a USB stick shaped like the Starfleet insignia, and with the movie using up a mere 1GB you get 3GB of useful extra storage space to play with as you please! Tiptons on DS9
Comic Book Resources have posted an interview with the Tipton brothers on their forthcoming DS9 comic book series Fool's Gold. "[Their] story is set between Seasons 3 and 4, before Worf's arrival to the station and before things start to heat up with the Dominion War. It's kind of the last point where there's breathing space before the series got really serialized in its final four seasons."The series will feature all the regular characters, with particular emphasis on Odo and Kira as the faces of law and order on the station, and Quark's bar being a prominent location. The brothers describe the series thusly: "the station is overrun by mysterious soldiers of fortune from across the galaxy, it creates a powder keg on DS9 with a very short fuse." "It's the larger mystery that needs to be solved: why are they all on the station? What brought them here, and might there be a hidden, larger purpose?"
