Non-Fiction book updates: Art of Discovery cover, and Illustrated Handbook blurbs and excerpts

A few Star Trek non-fiction books updates today, including new covers, new books, and excerpts. Continue below for all the latest:

First up we have a new cover for Titan Books' forthcoming The Art of Star Trek Discovery, which now sports some actual production art instead of the series poster used before.

The book by Paula M. Block and Terry J. Erdmann is due out in June. Here's a reminder of the blurb:
The official Star Trek: Discovery art book.

Star Trek: Discovery, the newest chapter in the Star Trek Universe, follows the exploits of Vulcan-raised science officer Michael Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery as they boldly go where no one has gone before.

The Art of Star Trek Discovery explores behind the scenes of CBS's hit show, with cast and crew interviews, set photography, concept art and storyboards. With exclusive content from the first two seasons, this book is a must-have for every Star Trek fan.

There are new details for Eaglemoss and Penguin Random House's forthcoming Deep Space Nine Illustrated Handbook, which will feature an in-universe look at Deep Space 9 and the USS Defiant (and surely runabouts?). Like previous volumes in the Illustrated Handbook series, this will be built largely on material originally created for the Star Trek Fact Files, refreshed and reordered for a lavish new book presentation. Due out in August, here's the blurb:
Fourth in the series of STAR TREK ILLUSTRATED HANDBOOKS, this guide takes an in-depth look at the space station Deep Space 9 and the starship U.S.S. Defiant.

Exploring the former Cardassian space station in detail, this volume looks at Deep Space 9's history and operation under the command of Captain Benjamin Sisko of the United Federation of Planets.

With technical information from official sources, annotated exterior views and isometric illustrations of key locations, this volume provides an extraordinary reference guide to 24th century Federation life on the diplomatic outpost.
Pre-order: Amazon, Barnes and Noble.

Before that the Voyager Illustrated Handbook is due out in April. Penguin Random House have released the first few pages from that as an initial preview, which is mostly introductory stuff, alas missing any of the cool cutaway diagrams that are a highlight of this series. But it does include the contents page listing everything in the book:

One final update today, it looks like David Goodman's already pushed back once, Autobiography of Mr Spock has been delayed again, with retailers now listing it for release in September 2021. Fear not though, if you enjoy the autobiography series, Una McCormack's Janeway book is still on track for release this July.
