Staying at home with nothing to do? Fear not, Star Trek jigsaw puzzles and games await to fill your time! Continue below to check out the latest releases.

You'll have to wait a little while for this first one, which isn't due to arrive until September, but that will give you time to make room for Aquarius' enormous 3000-piece TNG jigsaw puzzle(ad). Featuring the character and ship packed artwork of Dusty Abell, when complete this will be an impressive 32 x 45 inches!

Turn your baby into a redshirt

Stuck at home and just wishing your screaming baby would be devoured by a Dikironium cloud creature? Good luck, Aquarius have come up with an excellent signpost for every alien threat to know who to target, in their range of TOS uniform styled baby bibs. For more cautious parents, they also offer science and command styled uniform variants too. The cotton/polyester bids are velcro fastened with a plastic backing making them waterproof ready for dribbling babies (or you know, protection from venomous aliens). Check out the range below (images via Toynk):

Star Trek jigsaws to wind away your time

Stuck at home in need of something to do? Maybe you need a jigsaw puzzle to fill a few hours? Well lucky you, there are several recent Star Trek designs just waiting to be put together. Continue below to check out the latest:

New to the world of Star Trek are Cobble Hill, who last year launched a range of Star Trek designs spanning all the older series. All of their Star Trek designs are 1000 piece puzzles, and all come with a poster too (I assume of the same design).

My favourite of the collection is their Women of Star Trek puzzle, which celebrates all the major female characters from TOS, TNG, DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise:

The best Star Trek playing cards?

There are plenty of Star Trek playing cards out there, they're one of those things that are pretty easy to slap a picture of Captain Kirk on the back and think yourself an exciting merchandise maker. So it's a very welcome moment when a licensee does something more interesting with what could be a very ordinary product....

Forbidden Planet have just done that, with the launch of a new crossover set of playing cards that fully integrate Star Trek into the deck; each suit is based on a particular Star Trek series, with the set including TOS, TNG, DS9, and Voyager, each represented by key characters and their respective Starfleet deltas/combadges, or for DS9 the Bajoran insignia. To make things extra clear, each suit is a different colour too.

Latest previews from 50 Artists 50 Years art exhibition

As part of the 50th anniversary, CBS have created a Star Trek art exhibition, 50 Artists, 50 Years, which features a wide variety of artists and mediums all celebrating every facet of Star Trek. The exhibition will open first at the San Diego Comic Con, before going on to tour the world. Many of the pieces remain a mystery, but CBS are gradually adding new listings to their website, and more artwork keeps appearing on Star Trek merchandise too. Continue below for a look at the most recently revealed works.

There are at least two calendars on the way featuring art from the exhibition. The Universe Publishing version which was previewed a while ago, is in a poster format. Danilo meanwhile is issuing something a bit more like a catalogue for the exhibition, with numerous artworks and brief creator biographies represented across the pages of the Star Trek 50th Anniversary Official 2017 Calendar.  The front cover features Rocco Malatesta's Spock illustration 50 - Live Long and Prosper.

The back cover meanwhile features Tom Whalen's U.S.S. Enterprise Spec Sheet, plus preview pages from inside, highlighting numerous pieces, including illustrations by Star Trek comic book artist Joe Corroney, what looks like Spock made from threads by Hyunju Kim, and pieces from Mattel Hot Wheels toy designers.

Star Trek Panic and other new board games

It looks like 2016 is going to be a good year for trekkie board game fans, with several new licensees announced, bringing a variety of new games.

USAopoly (who have previously brought us several different versions of Star Trek Monopoly games) are returning, with a Star Trek version of the game Panic, delivered in conjunction with Fireside Games. The TOS-based game will feature a model of the Enterprise at the center, which will need to be protected from enemy attacks while the ship attempts to go about its mission. This is expect to arrive in May. Here's how USAopoly describe it:
Star Trek™ Panic® boldly goes where no one has gone before as players join the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise on a voyage to defend the ship from enemy attacks and carry out five vital galactic missions.

This cooperative light strategy game introduces new, never before seen, Panic® game mechanics, including Mission Cards, which feature unique challenges based on the original Star Trek™ series, as well as Character Cards, so players can assume the roles of Star Trek™ icons like Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock. Star Trek™ Panic® comes complete with a maneuverable U.S.S. Enterprise model ship, Shields, Damage and Destroyed Indicators, Mission Cards, Character Cards, Enterprise Cards, and more.

Lots of ways to drink something green

I hope you're thirsty, as I've got a drinks cabinet full of new Star Trek barware to share today. First up, a really fun new creation from ThinkGeek: The transporter pad coaster (which comes in a set of four), which has both light and sound effects that activate when you put your drink down, and pick it up. As you can see in the video below, it's a good effect, although you might also be relieved to know the sound can be muted to ensure you don't get transporter psychosis from all the noise!

USS Enterprise shaped puzzle

I do love to see a new USS Enterprise shaped thing, so I was delighted when I spotted a new puzzle amongst the latest releases from Aquarius. Not only is said new puzzle shaped like the Enterprise, but it's also double-sided, with the alternate side featuring a collage of TOS imagery - Two six-hundred piece puzzles in one!

Also recently released by Aquarius is a more conventional rectangular puzzle, featuring the TOS crew. This one is one-thousand pieces.

Borg ice-cubes, and more Trek stuff for the home

I'm starting to think chilling might be the Borg's cunning new plan to assimilate Earth, as, following the Borg whisky-chillers and Borg Cube fridge, here we are with another new Borg cooling device, the Borg Cube ice-cube mold. The new silicone mold from Diamond Select Toys gives a six sided miniature Borg Cube, made form ice, jelly, chocolate or whatever else you care to pour into it.

Entertainment Earth are expecting these to arrive in March next year. At one-and-a-half-inches across, an ice-cube made in these might be a little too large for another new addition to Entertainment Earth's catalogue; from Icup, a set of four TOS shot glasses with retro comic book art, due in October:

Cushions, bottle openers, and more of the latest Star Trek stuff

Feeling a lack of Star Trek in some corner of your life? Here are the latest Star Trek bits and pieces to plug those gaps:

ThinkGeek's latest TOS uniform product sees the Starfleet uniform design applied to cushions. You'll need to make sure you only place these on furniture made from the latest flame retardant materials, as the red one will attract phaser fire, lightning, and the like.

Another staple of recent Star Trek tie-in stuff is things shaped like the USS Enterprise. A few years ago the USS Enterprise bottle opener was released with a silvery finish, and now it's back in three new versions. You can now get the Enterprise in either white, black, or gold, each of which comes in a box to match the colour. I think the white one looks especially effective for the Enterprise:
