With this collection you can revisit all the classic characters and incredible art from the STAR TREK comic archives. Every edition has a specially-commissioned introduction to provide context to the story. Every book contains a number of collected comics and a bonus reprint of one of the comic archive’s classic stories.I expect that description, from their website, indicates this Star Trek collection will follow a similar format to Eaglemoss' DC collection, in which each issue includes a big multi-issue story, plus an extra issue drawn from somewhere else in the comic series. That would certainly be a pretty good way to delivery the many single issue Star Trek comics, while also giving each book a big story to focus on.

Some comic bits
My Germany correspondent, Unreality SF's Jens Deffner, has been in touch to gives me the latest updates on Cross Cult's translations of Star Trek comics. Or maybe the restarting of such translations, as previous editions hadn't really gone down that well. Coming very soon, in May, will be their first volume from the Star Trek ongoing series, which they are titling Die Neue Zeit I.
Cross Cult have also asked about the Legion of Super-Heroes crossover, but are awaiting a response on doing that one, and are also waiting to see what the Doctor Who crossover is like before they commit to it. They have no interest in Infestation.
Meanwhile Spain is also seeing a minor resurgence, as Likantro has just recently released a Spanish translations of Spock: Reflections (Las Reflexiones de Spock), following on from their previous translations of Countdown and Nero. Interestingly this latest volume apparently has some added content in the form of some sort of Spock biography by Carlos Diaz Maroto and Luis Alboreca, with illustrations by Javier Aranda and Cels PiƱol.
Finally back in the English-speaking world Tim Bradstreet has released his latest title-free cover art, this time for the tenth issue of the ongoing series. It has lots of lovely cogs:

IDW November solicitations
IDW have released their solicitations for November, which include two new Star Trek titles, plus an omnibus:
Star Trek (ongoing) #3
By Mike Johnson, with art by Stephen Molnar. Covers by Tim Bradstreet (4/5) and Joe Corroney (1/5), plus retail incentive Bradstreet sketch cover and a photo-cover.
Star Trek/Legion of Super-Heroes #2
By Chris Roberson, with art by Jeffrey Moy and Philip Moy. Covers by Phil Jimenez (4/5) and Steve Lightle (1/5), plus a retail incentive cover by Gabriel Rodriguez
Star Trek 100-Page Spectacular
By John Byrne, Scott and David Tipton, and Stuart Moore, with art by John Byrne, David Messina, Federica Manfredi, Mike Hawthorne. Cover by Joe Corroney
The Stuart Moore and Mike Hawthorne credits can only indicate the inclusion of Alien Spotlight: Tribbles. With Spock: Reflections #1, that leaves two slots, but with Byrne, the Tiptons and Messina having done so many Trek comics for IDW they could be just about anything!
Star Trek (ongoing) #3
By Mike Johnson, with art by Stephen Molnar. Covers by Tim Bradstreet (4/5) and Joe Corroney (1/5), plus retail incentive Bradstreet sketch cover and a photo-cover.
The adventures of the new Enterprise crew continue in this re-imagining of the classic episode "The Galileo 7"! Mr. Spock finds himself in command of a stranded shuttle crew fighting for survival, in a tale featuring the new cast from the blockbuster STAR TREK film!
Star Trek/Legion of Super-Heroes #2
By Chris Roberson, with art by Jeffrey Moy and Philip Moy. Covers by Phil Jimenez (4/5) and Steve Lightle (1/5), plus a retail incentive cover by Gabriel Rodriguez
The epic IDW/DC Comics crossover continues. Captain Kirk and the crew of the USS Enterprise have returned to Earth, but discover that it isn't the Earth they remember. And a group of Legionnaires stranded in the 23rd century find that history has changed around them. But can either team uncover what's gone wrong in time? And what will happen when they encounter each other?
Star Trek 100-Page Spectacular
By John Byrne, Scott and David Tipton, and Stuart Moore, with art by John Byrne, David Messina, Federica Manfredi, Mike Hawthorne. Cover by Joe Corroney
A quartet of stories offer an exciting—and reasonably priced!—introduction to the IDW universe of Star Trek. The first three are stand-alone stories, while the fourth, Spock Reflections, is the first chapter (but one that works well on its own) of a larger series.

Star Trek comics en Francais
Another foreign market has started to get their own editions of IDW Star Trek comics; since 2009 French publisher Delcourt began to trickle out Star Trek comics in France, with their fourth publication out a couple of months ago. Some of these books have "new" cover art, in that they use montages of different covers, sometimes even from other series. Here's what's been done so far:
La Tactique Romulienne
Published in October 2009 was John Byrne's Alien Spotlgiht: Romulans, this was Delcourts first and so far only single issue release, although it was actually released as a bonus extra with the DVD/bluray release of the 2009 Star Trek film.
Compte Ć Rebours
Also published in October 2009 came Delcout's version of tober 2009 Countdown.
Spock - RƩflexions
In February 2010 came the French edition of IDW's 2009 series Spock: Reflections. The cover featured a montage of images by David A. Williams from retail incentive covers of the second and third issues of Spock: Reflections, plus the Enterprise-E by David Messina from interior pages of Countdown #2 and/or #4.
Leonard McCoy
Finally this April brought Leonard McCoy, Frontier Doctor, John Byrne's 2010 series. The cover is a montage, using Joe Corroney's images of Kirk and McCoy from the cover of Burden of Knowledge #4.
For less recent French comics make your way over to my other blog, the 8of5 Archive, where I have compiled a history of French Star Trek comics from the 60s right up to these new ones.

Comics stuff
Various comics bits: Chris Ryall posted a showy page from last week's Romulans: Schism premier issue, well worth checking out:
This week's Spock: Reflections got a whole six-page preview on Comic Continuum, here's one of them, featuring a familiar starbase design:
Additionally David Messina has posted the same page on his blog without the text, as well as a page from Nero issue two.
Finally Comic Books Resources published an interview with Zander Cannon, the writer of the forthcoming new TNG series Ghosts, which he decribed as follows: "Ghosts' starts out as a routine rescue mission above a planet on which there are two feuding nations, one of which is a Federation ally. After rescuing the lone survivor of the disaster, the crew of the Enterprise finds that he seems to be haunted by phantoms, one of which he says is Captain Picard. While they unravel that mystery, the tensions heat up between the two nations, and the crew has to investigate claims of espionage, kidnapping, and murder while keeping themselves out of harm's way."
...and one more think, on the TrekBSS Keith R.A. DeCandido sneakily slipped out he has just handed a new comic script in to IDW (presumably for a Star Trek one...)

Spock: Reflections #2 preview + Countdown hardcover
TrekMovie have released a five-page preview of next week's second issue of the Spock: Reflections series. This issue is advertised for the Pike-era flashback, but it looks like we get a The Motion Picture-era one too! You can see the preview, here, as well as this awesome new (and annoyingly retail incentive) Pike-era cover:
TrekMovie have also reported some new details on the Countdown hardcover omnibus, with the latest iteration of the cover design. Apparently the back cover features a UV effect so when it is tilted Nero's tattoo appears...

You might want to skip the actual article though, they seem to be getting confused about Spock growing up on Romulus, and attempting to stir controversy by suggesting the TOS movie era stuff is from the new movie continuity...
