Latest TOS costume replicas from Anovos

Several new items from the TOS TV and movie eras are now available to order from Anovos, the maker of high end Star Trek costume replicas. Continue below to check them out.

First up, something that was previewed at conventions recently, the Wrath of Khan "Starfleet landing party field jacket". The elaborately collared and multi-pocket coat worn by Admiral Kirk in the film, is now available to order, with a long lead time; they're not expected to ship until autumn 2019!

There are lots of details on this piece, which as ever are meticulously recreated referencing originals, and that is no doubt reflected in the certainly-not-a-casual-purchase price of $1500. Alas so far Anovos have only released two images, so detail remain seen from afar (including the Sol Sector Earthbase patch on the sleeve, which sadly can't be seen clearly in either image):

New Orleans class comes to Star Trek Online, plus Disco content

One of my favourite ships from the Wolf 359 fleet, the New Orleans class, is coming to Star Trek Online. Continue below to check out two variations of that design, and a Klingon cousin, as well as some previews from the forthcoming Discovery content coming to the game.

The New Orleans class joins the game as a "recon destroyer", and is available either in it's original TNG era configuration, or a new 25th century take on the design. STO designer Thomas Marrone tweeted these images of the classic configuration of the ship:

Behind the scenes ship bits: Disco Klingons, K't'inga and Bajoran miniatures, DS9 art, and more

I've gathered some of the behind the scenes Star Trek starship design bits and pieces to hit the web recently, to enjoy a look at what goes in to bringing starships beloved and obscure to screen. Today's assemblage includes close looks at the K't'inga class and Bajoran transport filming miniatures, loads of DS9 concept art, and some Voyager and TNG bits too. But first, lets check out the very newest stuff, fresh from Discovery.

Discovery concept artist Samuel Michlap has shared several pieces of his work on his ArtStation profile. Those include pieces giving a good look at the Klingon obelisk from the very start of the series, both in its inactive mode, and deployed to light-up, with the latter showing a particularly elaborate design.
