Lower Decks round-up: Season trailer, Ready Room, posters, art, and more

With the series now underway, there's lots of ongoing Lower Decks promotion coming from CBS. Continue below for the return of The Ready Room, some fun character posters, clips and stills, and artwork from the series.

First up, the trailer for the season, with lots of new footage from future episodes. The ever helpful Nación Trek were good enough to get it up on YouTube, but if you prefer more official channels, you'll also find it on StarTrek.com and Instagram.

A few choices images to highlight interesting and new stuff: A space jellyfish thing:

Warp-capable, uh, boxes?

And Edosian (Arex's specis)? Also Boimler is glowing and there's a dog...

Friendly aliens, and a bit of extreme Kirk-Fu!

Underwater adventures:

Underwear planet? Featuring a big blue alien:

Angry green guy:

Furious bug-guy:

Klingon!

Coral reef warp core and explosion?!

Live long and prosper...

Reflecting on the first episode of the season, The Ready Room has been reincarnated in Lower Decks form, with Wil Wheaton remaining as host (hurrah!). The episode features a chat with series creator Mike McMahan, plus a featurette on the characters, a look at animatics, and a clip from the next episode. Also available on StarTrek.com, Facebook, and Instagram if you prefer.

Highlights from the chat include the promise of a future visit to cetacean ops! Very excited for that! Alas it doesn't look like we're getting The Ready Room weekly for this series, with the next episode due after episode six of Lower Decks.

Other elements of CBS's promos include these fun recruitment poster graphics, shared on their social media channels:

There's also a couple of new stills, here from episode two, Envoys, and episode one, Second Contact, respectively:

And a clip too:

Finally, the latest images from people involved in making the series. Animator Robby Cook shared this cool image of the crew in action:

Several artists have shared fun images like this recently; see my previous report for a few more.

And then from artist Amanda Turnage we have this background image of one of the scenes in the first episode:

Lower Decks is available on CBS All Access in the USA, and Bell Media channels in Canada. The rest of the world is awaiting news on if or when we get to see it.
