New Star Trek part work magazine with little model ships!

Little model ships! With a magazine! My Star Trek part work dream has come true!

Eaglemoss have just launched a new part work magazine in the UK, Star Trek: The Official Starships Collection. Each issue will come with a model ship, with the magazine giving technical details, behind the scenes information, and recounting on-screen appearances. Issue 1, with the Enterprise-D is just £1.99, going up to £5.99 for the Enterprise-A with issue 2, and settling at £9.99 a go from issue 3's Klingon Bird-of-Prey.

The 12-14cm long ships will include "every major Federation vessel" (so presumably all the series ships at the very least), plus popular minor ships such as the Akira class, and alien vessels, including Romulan, Klingon, and Borg designs.

As every with these things you are encouraged to subscribe with an assortment of subscriber perks, including a binder, dedication plaque, and two extra models; An All Good Things... version of the Enterprise-D, and a light up Borg Cube.

I'm a sucker for Star Trek part works, and for Star Trek ships, so despite the hefty price tag I'm sure I wont be able to resist this. I shall report back on the quality and contents of the first issue as soon as I can find a copy.

You can find out more on the magazine's website. Thanks to TrekBBS user Trek Survivor for pointing it out!

  1. Aww man! I checked and they don't ship to the US. I guess I'll have to dig around for these things on Ebay or something. Ugh.

  3. What part of England are you from? I used to travel over there for business.

Once again, many thanks for the info, 8 of 5.
I'm equally chuffed/stoked about this line! An Akira, 7 Enterprises, and Dominion ships works for me!
Hope Diamond picks them up for North American resale, like the earlier DeAgostini SW partworks. Otherwise, it's into the eBay fray for us Canadians, too.

  5. I'm in a tiny out of the way city called Lincoln, Hodo.

And it's good to know there's a precedent for such ships finding their way into other markets Darth Duranium; fingers crossed.

  6. That's amazing! Lincoln is where I would go. I'd work out at the Waddington AFB and stay in Lincoln. We'd stay at the Holiday Inn by the wharf. ASK pizza was one of our favorite places to eat. Small world...

  7. Haha, well that is odd! Unfortunately tiny little out of the way Lincoln apparently isn't worthy of getting this new magazine. So I've had to order a copy in to check it out .

  8. Thanks for posting this news about this part work. This is the first place I've seen it. I've just gone over to the website and subscribed. Even the subscribers gifts are desirable for a change! Dedication plaque! Light-up Borg cube!

  9. Not sure I particularly want the plaque myself, but can't go wrong with a Borg Cube. Still waiting for my first issue to arrive...

  12. I went to the STAR TREK Convention in London, it was great. I saw the First five magazines and starships but was told they are not on sale until February 2013! On EBAY, No1 and No2 are on sale priced at £0:99 plus £2:50 P&P. And was told that WHSmith have the first of the set priced at £1:99 (Enterprise-D). I went there to ask about it but was told they do not have it! How do i start collecting them without waiting till next year.
    Tank you. Carl.
