Starfleet Academy #2 preview

Out this week is the second issue in the bright and brilliant new Starfleet Academy series, written by Mike Johnson and Ryan Parrott. The competition is underway for the new generation of cadets, and the thread that ties to two eras of nuTrek together it starting to become clear - You can see how this chapter kick off in the five page preview below.

This issue is available in three covers, the main one by series artist Derek Charm, a darker toned subscription cover from Elizabeth Beals, and a beautiful and poppy retail incentive cover from George Caltsoudas.

You can continue reading this issue by picking up a copy at your local comic book shop, or from online retails like these:, Things From Another World, Forbidden Planet, iTunes.

This comic is so horrible drawn and written, it portages Spock who really doesn't care about his relationship, despite him saying otherwise, he only cares about his position in Starfleet. Uhura is written as a needy little girl who literally throws herself into someone's arm, as if she's leading them on (Uhura better apologize to Chekov). It has Spock and Uhura breaking up for the sake of unneeded drama and tension that comes across like a fan fiction Soap Opera for per-teens... these two are such a forced pairing, it's idiotic and makes no sense as to why they were put together in the first place...
